Shine the light

Dear church family

"Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
3 Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Isaiah 60:1-3

This time of year is an opportunity for us to shine the light and love of Jesus into our community. As you are aware we have many events happening over this season including Messy Christmas this Saturday, Christingle on Sunday, Christmas family food and fun, carols and so on and so forth. At these events we will be having many people coming into our building who do not know the hope of Jesus for themselves. We get the privilege of pointing them to the light that shines in the darkness. That is the entire point of why we do what we do.
We are the ones who help shine God's glory on this earth, we are His representatives. So let us shine His glory the best we can.

Volunteer - if you can free up your day, come and help on Saturday and the more volunteers we have the more people are available to love our guests, share what we believe and the hope that all those 420ish people can have for themselves.

Pray - pray for the events, pray for the outreach we are doing, pray for many to come to know Jesus for themselves through what we are doing as a church.
Share – at every opportunity, through doing our advent acts or blessing those who do not know Jesus, let us share and help guide people to the light of Jesus.
My prayer is that this Christmas time we will amplify the light that Jesus brings into the darkness and see many come to find the light for themselves.

A Very Messy Christmas TOMORROW! For this event to be a success, we will need a large team of volunteers to help set up and decorate the church on Friday (TODAY) afternoon/evening 8th December, for either or both sessions on the Saturday and to help clear up afterwards. Please let Izzy know on 07540070727 if you are available to help at all - at the moment we don't have enough people... Elena also needs more people to help serve in The Well. This is such a great event for outreach to our community - all 420 spaces went within 48 hours of them going live....!

Fancy Dress Christingle is *also* returning this year! Come one, come all - dressed as Nativity Characters or anything Christmassy! We had great fun last year dressing up together, celebrating Christingle (including our annual juggling competition!), and hearing about Jesus being the light of the world - so come and join us! This service will also see our drama group's first performance so it promises to be a really lovely morning!

Church Family Christmas Meal - we have space for 100 people to come and enjoy a Christmas dinner together, cooked and served by the leadership team and staff teams as we honour you and say a big "thank you" for being part of the church family! Please sign up using this link:
