Thank you, thank you - THANK YOU (with photos)

Dear church family

I am writing to say a huge Thank You for the way in which you responded to the needs that we had at the end of last week in order to be able to run both of the Messy Christmas sessions and Christingle! On Friday, an army rose to the challenge of coring oranges, packing Christingle packs, wrapping books, cleaning the main worship space (no mean feat as it was covered in dust!) and decorating the church ready for Christmas!! 🎄

Messy Christmas was such a joyful outreach event with many helpers having lots of conversations with our guests, loving them big and having lots of fun together! Here are some pictures for you to see the kinds of things we got up to! ❤️

Christingle was, again, a wonderful morning with the church absolutely packed out with people, we ran out of Christingles (which has never happened before!!), we have a brand new champion for our Christingle juggling competition and we were all dressed in Fancy-Dress which was such a lot of fun. A huge thank you once again must go to those who put lots of effort into dressing up - especially Katie Hamilton who came dressed as a Superhero Christingle. We also enjoyed the first performance from our amazing drama group - Claire and the team told the story of Jesus' birth (with a little help from audience participation at times!) and it was a really great and pacy performance with people involved across the generations in our church - thank you so much to everyone involved.

Another thank you is to the 100 of you who came along to our first Church Family Christmas Dinner on Tuesday evening - it was a privilege for us as the leadership team to serve and thank you for being part of the family and to share in a wonderfully cooked dinner together. We are already very much looking forward to next year's event!

Above all, we thank God for so many of the things he has been doing amongst our church family this year (even this week!) The mezzanine would be nowhere without the expertise and tireless work of Alistair Coney, Paul Verlinden and Ben Oliver - assisted by others throughout the past couple of weeks - and we are so so grateful that God has gifted us with amazingly selfless people with the right gifts in order for us to be able to build this space which will be beautiful when fully completed and already seems like it's always been there.

THIS SATURDAY AFTERNOON at 2pm - we need to clean and clear the worship space and the stage ready for Sunday (post building work!), and to decorate and setup the mezzanine and overflow areas - if there are lots of us, it won't take too long - thank you so much to all of you in advance for all of your support in this - we can't wait for you to see it all (almost) fully completed!!

CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT - 6PM Join this Sunday evening for our Carol service. We come together by candlelight to capture the essence of Christmas through worship, readings and prayers!
